Recently, the construction mobilization meeting for the Fangshan Campus of Xuanwu Hospital and National Medical Center, designed by IPPR in collaboration with GMP from Germany, was successfully held. Xu Haitao, General Manager and Chief Engineer of IPPR, and Huang Xiaoqun, Chief Architect and Chief Designer of the project, attended the event.

????The project is located in Changyang Town, Fangshan District, covering a site area of 143,000 m2, with a planned capacity of 1,200 inpatient beds. The eastern zone has a total building area of 198,900 m2, accommodating 800 beds, and will be developed following the principle of "phased implementation with overall commissioning".

Upon completion, Xuanwu Hospital will establish a new model of "one hospital with two campuses featuring coordinated growth", effectively filling the gap of a Grade A Tertiary general hospital in Fangshan District. It will address the shortage of high-quality medical resources in southwest Beijing and drive a comprehensive upgrade in regional healthcare service capacity. The groundbreaking of the project marks a new phase in the development of this "eco-smart healthcare complex", which is designed to optimize the capital's healthcare layout and better serve the residents of southwest Beijing.

The design fully integrates functionality, forward-looking vision, and the hospital's characteristics, and innovatively adopts the "BRAIN TREE" concept. The transportation system of the core medical zone is organized around a triangular main street, creating clear, efficient circulation routes while making optimal use of the irregular site. This approach enables seamless integration of clinical care, research, and teaching functions.

In addition, building on its proximity to Guangyangcheng Station on the Fangshan Metro Line, the project incorporates transit-integrated design to significantly reduce patient travel time. By internalizing the concept of a "smart hospital", it lays the foundation for a comprehensive digital diagnosis and treatment platform, striving to establish a benchmark for intelligent, green, and human-centered healthcare architecture in the capital for the new era.
